How To Watch All Of The Hunger Games Movies At Home
Welcome! Welcome, welcome. Happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor. Now, before we begin, we have a very special series of films brought to you all the way from the Capitol ... if you know where to find them. The prequel feature, "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes," is now in theaters, which has many fans looking to revisit the original series. Many young people who were a little too young to enjoy "The Hunger Games" have been rediscovering the franchise as of late, with the films feeling more relevant now than when they were first released. As I've previously written, "The book series first arrived in 2008, the year Barack Obama was elected president, and while he was certainly an imperfect leader (but nothing compared to his successor), most people at the time were running on pure, unfiltered optimism." Compared to now, there are moments in "The Hunger Games" books and films that now feel like they were pulled straight from our collective Twitter feeds.
We here at /Film recently ranked the "Hunger Games" films, including the placement of "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes." If you're looking for a refresher on the series to make a ranking of your very own after catching the prequel in theaters, you're in luck, because "The Hunger Games" is very accessible to stream, rent, and buy. Haymitch Abernathy was right when he said, "Nobody ever wins the games, period," so here's where you can find all of the films to watch at home and remember who the real enemy is.
How to watch The Hunger Games films at home
As of publication, all of "The Hunger Games" films are available to stream on Peacock. There is no telling how long the movies, however, will be available on the platform, as the franchise was produced by Lionsgate, which doesn't have an exclusivity deal with any of the streamers for their existing library. This is why you might have seen "The Hunger Games" films on Netflix a few months ago despite the movies currently streaming on Peacock. Moving forward, however, Lionsgate does have a multiyear output deal with Peacock for their new theatrical releases, meaning that "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" will head to Peacock when it has completed its theatrical run. The films are also available to rent and purchase on VOD but with four separate titles, a subscription to Peacock will be cheaper.
If physical media is more of your jam (and it should be), all of "The Hunger Games" films are available in a variety of formats. Both Best Buy and Walmart sell their own exclusive 4K box sets of the first four movies, but there are also multipacks available for more cost-effective purchasing opportunities. Sure, you'll lose all of the special features, but at least you'll have all four films to hold you over until the inevitable release of another box set including the prequel.
