Cool Stuff: Enjoy A Chocolately Pile Of Pasta With Buddy The Elf's Spaghetti Meal Kit From Hello Fresh
Anyone who has seen "Elf" with Will Ferrell can tell you that when it comes to sustenance, elves stick to four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corn, and syrup. However, one of Buddy the Elf's most famous feasts in the movie only features a couple of those delights. In one of the silliest and most amusing scenes in the modern holiday favorite, Buddy, having observed that his newfound family enjoys spaghetti, decides to add a little elf flair to the meal by covering it in chocolate sauce, marshmallows, candy, maple syrup, and even chunks of chocolate Pop-Tarts. It's not exactly the most appetizing dish, but that's not stopping the meal kit subscription service Hello Fresh from bringing this "Elf" meal to your doorstep.
In collaboration with Warner Bros. Pictures, the folks at Hello Fresh will be selling Buddy the Elf spaghetti meal kits that bring together Colavita spaghetti with maple syrup, chocolate syrup, marshmallows, chocolate nonpareil candies, crumbled chocolate frosted pastries, and more. So how can you get one for your family?
Eat like an elf!
Starting on December 5 at 12:25pm EST (hey, that's literally Christmastime!), Hello Fresh will be selling these Buddy the Elf spaghetti meal kits for $14.99, with each kit containing pre-portioned ingredients and a step-by-step recipe card that makes two servings of this sweet pasta recipe. Because we know as soon as you get that first hunk of chocolate-covered pasta into your mouth, you'll immediately want a bunch more of it! However, you'll have to be fast, because only limited number of kits will be available for purchase each day from December 5 through December 9. So if you miss out one day, you'll have a chance to try again later in the week.
In an official press release, Michelle Doll Olson, HelloFresh Culinary Development Manager, said:
"While drawing inspiration from the sweet spaghetti dish seen in the movie Elf, we created a chocolate-forward version that stays true to Buddy the Elf's dish, incorporating crushed chocolate cereal, various chocolate candies, marshmallows, and of course, syrup. Our goal is always to create recipes that are both tasty and fun to prepare, and we're sure this over-the-top recipe will satisfy any elf's sweet tooth while bringing the holiday spirit to your household!"
At the very least, your kids will enjoy putting together this sweet and undoubtedly messy concoction, especially if they eat it with their bare hands like Buddy does in the movie. Of course, you'll have to provide your own two-liter of Coke to wash it down with. Just make sure not to get anything on your green and yellow elf ensemble.
If you somehow miss out on getting this kit for yourself, Binging with Babish has their own recipe for Buddy the Elf's spaghetti that they created a few years back, so feel free to check that out too:
