Watch The First Footage From Jay Chandrasekar's 'The Babymakers'
In a weird way, it seems appropriate that the first footage from Jay Chandrasekar's The Babymakers would leak over the holidays. After all, the season is about family, and this film is ostensibly about starting a family. Of course, this being a film from the guy who directed Beerfest, what it really ends up being about is a lot of semen jokes. Hooray.
Olivia Munn and Paul Schneider star as a married couple who want to start a family but are having trouble conceiving. When the husband learns that it's because he is infertile, he enlists his friends and an Indian mob hitman (Chandrasekar) to help him break into a sperm bank and steal back a deposit he made years ago. This seems to be a rough cut of a promotional trailer rather than a finished theatrical trailer, so keep that in mind as you make your judgment. Watch the NSFW trailer after the jump.

I woudn't say the trailer was painful to watch — it's no Chipwrecked — but I don't think I laughed once. Smiled, maybe, but that's not enough to inspire me to watch a comedy. The gags are disappointingly stale, and Schneider looks like a dull leading man. At least Munn seems a tiny bit livelier than usual.
The part that confuses me most, however, is that the end of the trailer says the movie is "arriving" soon instead of "coming" soon. After three and a half minutes of nonstop ball jokes, the last 5 seconds seem like an odd place to start showing restraint. But as I said, I don't believe this is the official trailer, so I'll give the movie the benefit of the doubt and hope the next cut is a little better.
Although The Babymakers features the Broken Lizard team — Chandrasekar, Paul Soter, Kevin Heffernan, Erik Stolhanske, and Steve Lemme — it is not technically a Broken Lizard film. Written by Peter Gaulke and Gerry Swallow (heh), The Babymakers is due out sometime in 2013.
