Unfound 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' Easter Egg Truly Exists, James Gunn Bets $100K On It
Last fall, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn enticed fans of the Marvel Studios movie by revealing that there was one big easter egg somewhere in the movie that no one had yet found. Since then, some fans have been pouring over the movie, and some have sought out approval from James Gunn as to whether the easter egg has been found. But so far, apparently no one has found it, making some fans think it's not really there at all.
Well, for anyone doubting the existence of this unfound Guardians of the Galaxy easter egg, director James Gunn is willing to put his money where his mouth is for those who thinks it doesn't exists. How does $100,000 sound?
Sadly, James Gunn isn't promising $100,000 to the fan who finds the easter egg, no matter how awesome that would be. But instead, while responding to a Facebook comment, he told one fan that there was money waiting for him if James Gunn turns out to be lying (via ComicBook.com):
"Tanin Moores If there is no Easter egg I will give you a hundred thousand dollars – copy this post – I will consider it a legally binding contract – signed, James Gunn."
That's very honorable of James Gunn, but at the same time, there's no real way for us to know if he's lying or not. Since Gunn isn't the type of filmmaker to mislead or lie to fans about anything in his movies, especially the Marvel ones, we certainly take him at his word. But if no one finds this easter egg, then how will we ever know if it truly exists? If a Groot falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
It would be nice if James Gunn offered some kind of a hint as to what kind of easter egg we're looking for. But apparently it's a rather big one. Gunn reiterated on Facebook, "There's definitely one really big thing that people haven't seen, but they may never see it — we'll see. There's other things, too."
So there's one really big easter egg and even some other smaller ones that have gone unnoticed. I suppose this will offer opportunities for fans to enjoy Guardians of the Galaxy again and again, and you can't go wrong there.
And don't forget, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 arrives next year on May 5, 2017.
