'Tracker' Trailer: Ray Winstone Chases Temuera Morrison
Tracker is one of those minor movies I'm trying to keep on my radar. (And on yours.) It's a film out of New Zealand directed by Ian Sharp, and starring Ray Winstone as a Boer War veteran who is hired to find and bring to justice a Maori man (Temuera Morrison) accused of killing a British officer. We've seen a couple photos of the actors in character, and now there's a trailer, which you can see below.
This trailer makes clear that there's not much mystery to the story, but hopefully there will be value in seeing Ray Winstone and Temuera Morrison play these two parts. Frankly, it's not a great trailer and some of the dialogue is way too on the nose for me. But we don't often see this sort of film any more, so I'm hoping that once all the setup is out of the way there will be a good chunk of film where we can see a good combination of character work and New Zealand backdrops.
An ex-Boer war guerrilla in New Zealand is sent out to bring back a Maori accused of killing a British soldier. Gradually they grow to know and respect one another but a posse, led by the British Commanding officer is close behind and his sole intention is to see the Maori hang.
