Toys Offer Another Look At The Lizard From 'The Amazing Spider-Man,' Corroborate Action Setpiece Rumors
The first vague look we had at the Lizard in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man was via a fairly low-rent plastic rendering: a Pez dispenser. (Well, the first look those who weren't in Hall H when Sony debuted the character at Comic Con, anyway.) Concept art followed on the heels of that reveal, and now we've got another toy to help shape our understanding of the character's look. This time, however, the toy boats an actual photo of the guy, albeit a low-quality one.
In addition, another toy set seems to reveal an action setpiece in the film. As it turns out, this is one that we reported on a long time ago. I've used old art of the Lizard in the header to avoid spoiling things for those who don't want to see anything before a new trailer hits, so hit the jump for all the new details.
First up, here's the new toy rendering of the lizard. Compare it with the other image in the gallery, which is that concept art I mentioned above.
And then here's the toy box that seems to confirm a nearly year-old rumor about a setpiece. The rumor was that one scene involves members of a SWAT team being turned into lizard-like creatures, and the box highlights the inclusion of 'SWAT lizard.'
The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field. It opens on July 3, 2012.
