Stephen King And His Son Have Kind Words For Guillermo Del Toro's 'Crimson Peak'
When you're the most famous horror author of all time, you get a bunch of perks. One of which is sometimes you get to see major motion pictures seven months early with a plus one. I'm talking of course of Stephen King, who recently took to Twitter to heap praise on Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak, which he apparently had a chance to see in recent days. King's son, accomplished author Joe Hill, also saw the film and he too had some wonderful things to say about the movie, which opens October 16. Read the Stephen King Crimson Peak reaction below.
Here are the tweets in question: First Joe Hill, because he tweeted first:
Remember that list I tweeted the other day, the 13 most beautiful horror films. CRIMSON PEAK is the most beautiful of all.
— Joe Hill (@joe_hill) March 15, 2015
CRIMSON PEAK is Del Toro's blood-soaked AGE OF INNOCENCE, a gloriously sick waltz through Daphne Du Maurier territory.

Then, Stephen King himself:
Was treated to a screening of Guillermo del Toro's new movie, CRIMSON PEAK, this weekend. Gorgeous and just fucking terrifying.
— Stephen King (@StephenKing) March 16, 2015
CRIMSON PEAK electrified me in the same way Sam Rami's EVIL DEAD electrified me when I saw it for the first time way back in the day.

That's pretty high praise from the king and prince of horror. Word is that del Toro is pretty much done with the film so we might be hearing more reactions as we get closer to release. But we still have an entire summer at the movies before the masses get to see Crimson Peak.
Crimson Peak, co-written and directed by Guillermo del Toro, stars Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Hunnam. It opens October 16 in IMAX.
Legendary Pictures' CRIMSON PEAK, a co-production with Universal Pictures, is a haunting gothic horror story directed by the master of dark fairy tales, Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy series, Pacific Rim), written by del Toro and Matthew Robbins and starring Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Hunnam. In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds...and remembers. Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, del Toro and Callum Greene produce, and Jillian Share executive produces.
