The opening clip (via IMDb) begins at the wrap party for Star Wars: The Last Jedi in the United Kingdom where Kathleen Kennedy praises the experience she had working with director Rian Johnson and producer Ram Bergman. Then Johnson gets handed the mic and somewhat nervously says, "I don't want to freak anybody out here, but I think we just made a Star Wars movie," followed by huge cheers and applause.
From there we jump back to before cameras were even rolling on The Last Jedi to a script meeting between Rian Johnson, Kathleen Kennedy and the film's stars Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley. Some insight is provided into the specific wording of a specific line as the two actors have what is essentially a rehearsal with just the two of them on the Pinewood Studios backlot.
Then we begin the production process with insight from Johnson, Bergman, Kennedy and more, complete with tons of never before seen footage from behind the scenes of the film. It doesn't look to offer anything groundbreaking, but for Star Wars fans who just want a little more insight into the making of this latest chapter, it will be quite satisfying. Here's another clip featuring the late Carrie Fisher:
Here's yet another sneak peek featuring Mark Hamill talking about a reunion with a certain character:
The reactions out of SXSW will have you wanting to see this movie as soon as possible:
The Director and the Jedi is an earnest, honest look at @rianjohnson's journey through production on The Last Jedi. You get to see the creative and logistical challenges of making a movie like this. The Frank Oz/Yoda section in particular was magical. Goosebump city.

THE DIRECTOR AND THE JEDI is both joyous and heartbreaking. I adore watching them piece together movies of this size, especially #StarWars movies. They documented so many terrific moments – the bts of the @HamillHimself & Carrie Fisher scene was beautiful#sxsw pic.twitter.com/aVd90lkx1r
