Last week Disney as part of the Art Awakens announcement, an art contest was revealed for fans to create Star Wars: The Force Awakens fan art that could end up as part of a Force Awakens art show at Gallery 1988 later this year. Movies.com has compiled the best submissions so far, but I personally love the one that imagines Star Wars: The Force Awakens as an old school Star Wars comic book and the exploded Force Awakens era X-Wing fighter.
Star Wars: Force For A Change has an auction on eBay right now to raise money for UNICEF. The auction is for Stormtrooper helmets painted by various artists in the Disney family. For example, former Marvel Editor-in-cheif Joe Quesada created a Stormtrooper head painted like Iron Man. Pretty cool. You can go place your bid right now.

Star Wars Rebels Season 2 Sneak Peeks and Preview at NYCC
Fans attending New York Comic Con on Thursday, October 8th will receive an exclusive sneak peek of what's to come in the second season of Star Wars Rebels with a panel featuring special guests plus a preview screening of two new episodes from the series.
As the second season of Star Wars Rebels opens, the crew of the Ghost is now considered a very real threat to the Empire and has caught the attention of Darth Vader himself. Undeterred, the rebels seek out old friends and add powerful allies to their cause, forming the beginnings of a more formidable alliance against the Empire. To stop them, Vader will dispatch new agents to hunt down their growing coalition, determined to snuff them out before they can ignite a galaxy to rebellion.
The Star Wars Rebels panel will take place on the Empire Stage from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and will be followed by an exclusive screening of two new episodes later on the same stage, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. These all-new episodes will feature the series debut of Captain Rex, Captain Gregor and Commander Wolffe – three clones from the previous Star Wars animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. They join another fan favorite from The Clone Wars – Ahsoka Tano – who made her Star Wars Rebels debut in the final episode of season 1.
Star Wars Rebels returns with new episodes this fall on Disney XD.

DK has revealed two new synopses for Star Wars: The Force Awakens reference books that will be released on December 18th, 2015. There are no spoilers to be had here, so dive in.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens Visual Dictionary by Pablo Hidalgo
Star Wars: Episode VII-The Force Awakens takes us back to the "Galaxy Far, Far Away" for the first time in 30 years since the destruction of the second Death Star at Endor. JJ Abrams' sequel introduces us to a whole new cast of heroes – Rey the scavenger girl of Jakku, Finn the runaway Stormtrooper of the First Order, and Resistance X-Wing ace Poe Dameron – and villains – Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, and General Hux, all of the First Order – along with the Legacy cast from the classic trilogy. Profusely illustrated throughout with photos, production art and original art, the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Visual Dictionary chronicles every character, weapon, starship, droid, creature, and alien to be found in the highly anticipated Star Wars sequel!
Star Wars: The Force Awakens Incredible Cross Sections by Jason Fry (Author) & Kemp Remillard (Illustrator)
Drawing upon the Lucasfilm Archives and JJ Abrams' pre-production illustrations and the film itself, this latest edition in DK's world-renowned Star Wars Incredible Cross-Sections books brings the world of The Force Awakens to life in never-before-seen detail! Each vehicle, starship, and bit of technology from Episode VII is explored; cross-sectioned to reveal the armaments, propulsion systems, armor, control systems, and other key aspects of each. From Han Solo's Millennium Falcon (no doubt further modified in the year's since Episode VI) to the First Order's new TIE fighters, special features and hidden mechanisms are described and illustrated in graphic detail. Together with the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Visual Dictionary, these books comprise a definitive look at this all-new chapter in the Star Wars saga and a welcome addition to any fan's reference library!
After the jump we have a story on a continuing Star Wars comic book series storyline. The latest issue either confirms or debunks a reveal from a few issues back. Hit the jump if you want to find out. Stay away if you don't wait to be spoiled. Also we have information on what the X-Wing Squadron is called in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
We have seen Blue-painted X-Wing Fighters in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, but we have also seen set photos of Poe Dameron's black X-Wing fighter. So what is the X-Wing squadron called in The Force Awakens? According to MakingStarWars sources, by the end of the movie Poe will be leading "Black Squadron". Very cool.
In June 2015, issue #6 of the Marvels Star Wars comic book revealed that Han Solo has a wife. This was a big deal because the comic book series is considered Star Wars canon and could be referenced in future films (like Star Wars: The Force Awakens or maybe even the Han Solo prequel film in development) Well it took some time to pick up on this storyline and in issue # 8 of Star Wars the debate continues — does Han Solo have a wife we didn't know about? Here is the reveal from BleedingCool:
