Stan Lee Hospitalized Last Night, But He's Already Out And Happy For The Publicity
Last night comic book fans were given a bit of a scare when Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee, the creator of X-Men, Fantastic Four, Iron Man and much more, was sent to the hospital after experience shortness of breath and an irregular heartbeat.
After Lee was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, a spokesperson for the comic creator said that Lee "is doing well and feeling good, he is staying there for a few days for some check ups as a safety precaution." But it turns out he's doing even better than initially thought, because Stan Lee was released from the hospital this morning, and in typical Stan Lee fashion he's just happy about the publicity this trip to the hospital got him.
TMZ was first to report the news of Stan Lee hospitalized last night, but this morning it was ABC Los Angeles who spoke with the Marvel movie good luck charm. Lee told them:
"All I really want to do is tell you that I'm feeling great. I figured a little check up wouldn't be bad for me. And in fact it turned out to be pretty good, it got me a lot of publicity. I'm feeling good now and I can't wait to get in there and tangle with all the competition. It's nice to know that somewhere in the world there are still people who care about what I say or do."
Leave it to Stan Lee to downplay something like this and simply be happy that we're all still talking about him. He'll be getting back to his schedule meeting fans and whatnot this weekend.
This isn't the first time Lee has had some health scares since he has had to cancel a few scheduled convention appearances and whatnot in the past due to certain health issues. Stan Lee is 96 years old and is showing no signs of giving in to the limitations his age might give him, and for now we're just happy he's still with us.
