Set Photos: 'The Wolf Of Wall Street,' 'Thor: The Dark World,' And 'Carrie'
NO PHOTOS
As summer draws to a close we're in a slow couple of news weeks. Things will pick up soon as the fall festival circuit begins in earnest, and with it the casting and sales deals that put in motion the films we'll (hopefully) be seeing a year or so from now.
In the meantime, take a look at some set photos of films that are in progress right now. The best shots are of Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese shooting The Wolf of Wall Street. (Lawsuit be damned.) That's a taste, above. More Wolf pics are below, along with some set photos from Kimberly Peirce's Carrie — see some of the prom set — and Thor: The Dark World, which is just about to get rolling.
For The Wolf of Wall Street, Leonardo DiCaprio is sporting a power tie and icy double-breasted suit as he plays a version of Jordan Belfort, an investment banker who lived a life of decadence and partying in the late '80s and early '90s before his own ambitions and appetites got the better of him. Thanks to ComingSoon for the pics. Matthew McConaughey, Jonah Hill, Jean Dujardin, Kyle Chandler, Rob Reiner, Margot Robbie, and Jon Favreau will all appear in the film, which has yet to be dated for release.
The set pics from Carrie come from Before the Trailer, and show some of the exterior sets for the new version of the prom scene, where Carrie White (Chloe Grace Moretz) is humiliated, leading to the explosive and deadly flowering of her telekinetic powers. Carrie also stars Julianne Moore, and opens on March 15, 2013
Finally, the images for Thor: The Dark World come from Superhero Hype, with a note that the in-progress built will be used in about two weeks. The set is in Bourne Wood, just south of Farnham, Surrey, in England. The location is often used for films — you've seen it in Gladiator, Band of Brothers, Children of Men, multiple Harry Potter films, and War Horse, among many others.
Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Kat Dennings, Anthony Hopkins,Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Jaimie Alexander, Tadanobu Asano, Stellan Skarsgard and Ray Stevenson all return for Thor: The Dark World. Alan Taylor directs from a script by Robert Rodat, and Christopher Eccleston and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje are the primary new cast additions. The film is set for release on November 8, 2013.
