'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' International Trailer Features New Footage And Dialogue
International trailers tend to spoil far too much. Thankfully, that's not exactly the case with the international trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but the latest look at Gareth Edwards' (Godzilla) war film does include some new plot details and new footage. There's one new line, in particular, related to Jyn Erso's father (Mads Mikkelsen) that expands on the setup of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Below, watch the Rogue One international trailer.
Four days ago we saw the new trailer for Rogue One, which featured a glimpse at Darth Vader. In the prequel, Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and her team go on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star. Along for the journey is the Rebel Alliance's Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), droid K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), pilot Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen), and a character we get to see more of in this new footage, Chirrut Îmwe (Donnie Yen), a blind warrior. Ben Mendelsohn and Forest Whitaker co-star in the first Star Wars Story, which recently underwent reshoots with the help of Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton).

Whoever's decision it was at Disney for these trailers to lean so heavily on Whitaker's speech to (presumably) Jyn Erso made a wise choice. The growing intensity in the actor's delivery is completely captivating, especially while hearing it play over some of these intense, striking shots. In the film, Whitaker plays Saw Gerrera, a Rebel extremist introduced in season five of Star Wars: The Clone Wars — a detail that didn't exactly shock or blow fans away.
