Potential 'Jurassic World' Map Could Answer Burning Questions
There are lots of questions surrounding Colin Trevorrow's in-production sequel, Jurassic World. One of the biggest is which dinosaurs will be returning? Popular species like the Tyrannosaurus Rex and Velociraptor are pretty good bets. Beyond that though, anything is possible. Another question is the functionality of dinosaurs in the film. Though there have been hints, we don't know for sure if "Jurassic World" is a new park, along the lines of the one in the Steven Spielberg original, or something more organic, like in Joe Johnston's third film.
Well, a few photos have leaked that may just answer both those questions. They appear to be a map of a park that's labeled "Jurassic World," which lines up with earlier rumors, and includes lists of dinosaurs at the park. If true, there are some minor spoilers, but check out the potentially Jurassic World map below.
These images come from JPLegacy.com via Comic Book Movie. Though they are being touted as "legit," we don't know for sure.
Now, if these are to be true, it's not a huge cast of dinosaurs returning. Plus, there's no mention of Raptors. That seems a little sketchy, but maybe by this time humans have learned not to breed those things. These all seem relatively safe, save for the T-Rex, and that makes it seem like the whole idea of a new, functioning Jurassic Park is plausible after the events of the first three films.
In case you missed it a few days back, another rumor hit the Net about the film's plot. The plot does seems to mesh with these above photos in that the park is a functional tourist attraction, but there's still some seedy scientific research going on. Don't read this block quote if you are avoiding potential spoilers but, again, this is all just rumored.
There will be lots of Dino on Dino fighting, as some of the Dinos are "good guys" that are trained by Chris Pratt's character. The raptors and T-Rex are among the "trained" good dinosaurs. The big bad dinosaur has instant camouflage abilities, like the cuttlefish, so he blends into the background, is smart like the velociraptor, uses his jaw like a snake, and can terrorize like the T-Rex. Does this mean the new dino will be the ONLY "bad" one? Or will there be more than one? Unconfirmed, but it will be the catalyst that kicks off the peril.
Here's what's not a rumor. Jurassic World opens June 12, 2015. It stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, BD Wong, Irrfan Khan and others. Michael Giacchino is doing the music.
