New Photo From 'Your Highness'
Here's a new image from David Gordon Green's Your Highness, which shows off the core cast of Natalie Portman, Danny McBride, James Franco and Zooey Deschanel. The 'all audiences' trailer for the film will hit tomorrow (we've seen a red band trailer already) so consider this a little advance look.
USA Today has the image, but doesn't offer too much info that will be new to those who've been following the film's development. Danny McBride, who co-wrote with Ben Best, plays a lazy, arrogant prince who embarks upon a quest with his far more together brother (Franco) to save the bride (Deschanel) of the elder prince. Natalie Portman joins them, as a highly capable warrior.
The article mentions '80s fantasy epics like Krull, The Dark Crystal and Ladyhawke, and quotes Danny McBride saying "We didn't want to make fun of them. We really tried to make one of these films."
That's how he's been describing the movie for a couple of years now, and I'm still surprised that Universal actually gave these guys money to make the movie happen. Though I like David Gordon Green's arthouse output more than Pineapple Express, I'm still excited to see how this will turn out. The red-band trailer made the film look like a fantasy filtered through Eastbound & Down, and that's brilliant as far as I'm concerned.
