Paul Giamatti Confirms His Role In David Cronenberg's 'Cosmopolis' And Talks About 'The Hangover Part II'
With his appearance in Win Win getting great reviews out of Sundance, Paul Giamatti is all over the place this week. It's always good to see the excellent actor getting attention, but his interviews this week have been more than good exposure. They're the source of info about upcoming films including David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis and The Hangover Part II.
First up, the good news is that after a bit of doubt last week, Mr. Giamatti is indeed in the cast Cosmopolis, though he doesn't know when the film will shoot. He'll appear as one of the guys who is pursuing the main character played by Robert Pattinson. Specifically, he told MTV "I get to stalk him."
Good stuff. The film, you'll recall, is based on Don DeLillo's novel of the same name, in which Eric Packer (Robert Pattinson) spends 24 hours more or less encased in his limo and manages to cheat on his wife, deal with the aforementioned stalkers as well as another attack, and lose his fortune.
And then there's The Hangover Part II, in which it seems like we'll only see the actor in one scene. He told MTV, "I just did it with the three guys, who were great..They kind of swore me to secrecy. I play a bad guy in it." Too bad that we won't see more of him than that little taste, but that'll do. Not difficult to imagine that the sequel to The Hangover will have more than enough good material even without more Giamatti.
