Patrick Wilson Joins Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus'
Briefly: Rumors had been around for some time, but now we've got official confirmation: at some point actor Patrick Wilson (Watchmen, Little Children) joined the cast of Ridley Scott's Prometheus. We don't know his role or how significant a part he's got in the movie. In fact, while quite a few rumors have hit the internet, and a good many spy pics have floated around, the real meat of the film's story remains somewhat obscure. (You can read potentially very spoilerish plot details here, though we don't know to what degree they are accurate.) I don't want to run most of the set photos that have hit, but suffice to say that they bear a very distinctively Alien influence.
The cast features Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Rafe Spall, Logan Marshall-Green and Guy Pearce. No footage is online at this point, but I recapped the Comic Con footage presentation here. I think people will be fairly happy with the look of the film when Fox releases an official trailer. Prometheus opens in 3D on June 8, 2012. Patrick Wilson also has a part in Jason Reitman's upcoming Young Adult, which hits on December 16 of this year.
