'Oz The Great And Powerful' Teaser Poster
As it's July 4, there won't be a ton of updates on /Film today. There will be a few here and there, and a major one is the first teaser poster for Oz the Great and the Powerful. Sam Raimi's 2013 Wizard of Oz prequel stars James Franco as a circus magician who winds up in the magical world of yellow brick roads and munchkins only to find himself in the middle of a battle for the world between three witches played by Rachel Weisz, Mila Kunis and Michelle Williams.
We'll know much more about the film after next week's San Diego Comic-Con but for now, check out Disney's first teaser poster for the film.
Here's the teaser poster for Oz The Great and Powerful, scheduled for release March 8, 2013.
A pretty poster to be sure, but it's still not an image from the film. That's what I'm waiting to see. Otherwise, all that's come online is this weird scan of Franco's character. What do you think of the poster?
Here's the official plot description:
When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis) Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.
