New 'Wreck-It Ralph' Posters Highlight Famous Video Game Cameos
With Wreck-It Ralph, not only is Disney making a movie about video games, they're paying homage to video games. In addition to the story of Ralph (John C. Reilly), Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) and fictional games like Fix-It Felix Jr., Sugar Rush and Hero's Duty, real life games all exist in this world. There's Pac-Man, Q-Bert, Sonic the Hedgehog, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter II, all of the classic games we grew up with in the Eighties and Nineties.
A new set of posters for the film has been revealed that focuses on those tangental characters and fans of video games are surely going to love them. Check them out below.
Thanks to IGN for these posters. The four one is the theatrical one sheet that's been out for a few days.
The first poster features M. Bison from Street Fighter II, Doctor Eggman from Sonic, Q-Bert and Vanellope. The second is Zangief from Street Fighter II, Sonic the Hedgehog and Sgt. Calhoun and the third is Neff from Altered Beasts, Clyde from Pac-Man and Felix. Then the fourth poster is all the lead characters from Wreck-It Ralph.
Also in the film, but not in the poster, are Kano from Mortal Kombat, Bowser from Super Mario Bros. and many others. Noticably missing are Mario, Link, Samus and other major Nintendo characters and, when we recently spoke with Wreck-It Ralph director Rich Moore, he said the following about that:
I think to [Nintendo] those are like their Mickey Mouse and I don't know that they are, like Clark [Spencer, producer] said, if they are legally kind of bound by another project that they are working on or something... I don't know if they were like "No, we don't want them in there. We are against them being in it." I just think that there are other things they are doing with them that made it difficult or impossible to get them in there and maybe it will be a situation like Barbie not being in the original TOY STORY and then maybe after they see it, if all goes well, they will say "If you're doing a sequel, we would like to have these guys in it," which we would love to have.
I think Wreck-It Ralph is definitely going to be a hit so maybe we'll see them in film two. Until now, which cameo are you most excited for?
