New 'Oz: The Great And Powerful' Poster Shows Off A Wicked Witch
Bad looks pretty good in Sam Raimi's Oz. The director's new film is Oz: The Great and Powerful, which tells of a corrupt, salacious magician (James Franco) who escapes a predicament by balloon, and is swept away to the magical land of Oz. There he meets three witches, Glinda (Michelle Williams), Theodora (Mila Kunis), and Evanora (Rachel Weisz).
Disney is starting to show off the witches, with a planned release of three posters, one for each. Below you'll find a sheet featuring one of the two wicked sisters, Theodora and Evanora, aka the Wicked Witches of the West and East. But is it Kunis or Weisz in the poster? We've seen images of both women in the film looking a lot more... normal... than the woman in the poster below. But the image really calls back to Margaret Hamilton's classic film depiction of the Wicked Witch of the West. Take a look for yourself and determine who this is.
Yahoo has the poster. You can check out the trailer here.Oz the Great and Powerful opens on March 8th, 2013.
Disney's fantastical adventure "Oz The Great and Powerful," directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum's beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.
