Natalie Portman Writing Sex Comedy 'BYO'

Briefly: You might have missed the fact that Natalie Portman has a sense of humor that sometimes angles towards the goofy and lowbrow. She didn't end up in Your Highness or those SNL videos by accident. She's been producing for some time and is now reportedly shopping a sex comedy she scripted with Laura Moses. BYO (Bring Your Own) features, according to the LA Times, " two very different twentysomething women who, after finding themselves unlucky in love, decide to throw a party to which each female attendee brings an eligible bachelor." And, because there might be some frank and hopefully funny talk about sex, it is naturally being compared to Superbad. (They're probably not actually anything alike.)

The paper says that, in addition to writing and producing, Portman will play one of the lead roles. Additional talk puts Anne Hathaway as interested in the other role. But the paper also says that a couple studios have passed, which might lead to the indie financing realm for BYO.
