Before Paranormal Activity, there was The Blair Witch Project. This was the first found footage horror sensation that took the country by storm in the late 1990s, and it's still quite a terrifying indie horror gem. It was made on a shoestring budget and it relies on suspense that builds from the imagination of the viewer rather than any monster or spirit that appears on screen.
This Is Spinal Tap
One of the best mockumentary movies every made, this film from comedy masterminds Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer, this film from director Carl Reiner is highly improvised and endlessly hilarious. If you loved shows like The Office and Parks and Recreation but somehow haven't seen the movie that made those shows possible, then you have to watch This Is Spinal Tap.
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids
Here's another kind of movie that Disney really doesn't make anymore. This is an old school adventure that the whole family can enjoy. It'll remind you how great Rick Moranis is, and it will make you wish that he was still acting today. Plus, the special effects in this movie still hold up for the most part.

A classic pianist (Elijah Wood) looking for a comeback has to deal with stage fright on another level when an unseen shooter (John Cusack) threatens to assassinate him if he plays a single wrong note during his performance.
