'Mad Max: Fury Road' Meets 'Star Wars' In Fantastic 'Road Wars' Trailer Mash-Up
For many movie fans this summer, nothing has been able to topple that greatness that is Mad Max: Fury Road. The sequel, which doesn't require a viewing of the early installments of the franchise, is a prime example of how to do a summer blockbuster right, with a simple story, the perfect blend of practical and visual effects, and sublime action.
And now the excitement of Mad Max: Fury Road is given a whole new level of awesome in a trailer mash-up called Road Wars: The Imperator Strikes Back. Yes, this trailer mash-up combines Mad Max and Star Wars into one epic movie full of shiny chrome and glowing lightsabers. Check out this impressive Mad Max Star Wars trailer mash up below!

Road Wars: The Imperator Strikes Back is a creation by filmmaker Krishna Shenoi from Bangalore, India, who has done some pretty impressive digital trickery to put elements of Star Wars into the Mad Max: Fury Road trailer.
It's seamless, fun, and not over-the-top at all. There's just the right blend of Star Wars and Mad Max, by giving Imperator Furiosa a lightsaber, having X-Wings, TIE Fighters and the Millennium Falcon get caught up on the chase, and using Tatooine scenes in the best way possible. The quick cut montage is full of random shots from Return of the Jedi that fit perfectly with the rest of the trailer. There's even a shot from the recently released behind the scenes sizzle reel for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Perhaps the only downside is that there's just not enough Doof Warrior on display. The character has a full backstory, and even inspired Conan O'Brien to go a little crazy for his series of shows at Comic-Con in San Diego last week. There's even sheet music complete with flamethrowing cues. Having this guy meet Boba Fett (who would certainly be hired to track down Immoten Joe's wives) would just be incredible!
Sadly, the action of Mad Max: Fury Road doesn't take place on Tatooine (or Jakku). And we'll never see Imperator Furiosa wield a lightsaber. Though it does seem a little convenient that she's also lost her arm previously, just like Luke Skywalker. Maybe Darth Vader is responsible for taking that limb after all. It's probably no coincidence that she has a green lightsaber, just like Skywalker in Return of the Jedi.
Anyway, this will have to hold us over until Mad Max: The Wasteland rolls into theaters.
