'Jessica Jones' Has Trouble Waking Up In Netflix's New Teaser Trailer
In just under a couple months, Netflix will bring Jessica Jones online, their second series collaboration with Marvel Studios. So far we've only gotten a teaser promo confirming the release date in November and some first look photos showing Krysten Ritter in the title role as a retired superhero working as a private eye.
Now another Jessica Jones teaser has surfaced by way of the Spanish Facebook page for the Marvel series. It's a fun little tease that shows getting out of bed in the morning is even difficult for people with superpowers.
Here's the Jessica Jones teaser, originally from the show's Spanish Facebook page:
Some outlets are saying that this is the first footage from the show, but I'm not entirely sure that this is actually footage we'll see in the series. There's nothing particular stylish about the shot, and there's no guarantee that Krysten Ritter is actually in that bed as Jessica Jones. I'd be willing to bet that a body double shot this simply for promotional purposes.
But even if this isn't footage from the show, it's still a clever teaser that gives us a little insight into the abilities and attitude of Jessica Jones. It would be cool if we got little teasers like this right up until the full series trailer hits, which will probably a few weeks before the show ends up on Netflix.
In addition to Ritter, the show also features Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Jessica's best friend, also known as Hellcat in the comics, and Carrie-Anne Moss as Harper, another potential ally for Jones. And there's also Mike Colter as Luke Cage in a recurring role that will take him into his own series in 2016. Rosario Dawson will also be popping in, reprising her role as Claire Temple from Daredevil. As for the villain, David Tennant has taken that part as Kilgrave a.k.a. the Purple Man.
Jessica Jones came in at #2 on our list of 16 Most Anticipated New Fall 2015 Shows, and you can bet that we'll be binge-watching this show as soon as it hits Netflix on November 20th.
Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell's Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need... especially if they're willing to cut her a check.
