Kelly MacDonald Will Appear In 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Part 2'
Briefly: Sure, the final Harry Potter film is basically done, but there are still a few secrets to be revealed. (Just as there were with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I.) One of the minor casting bits that had previously been unreported or had escaped notice is that Kelly MacDonald will be playing The Gray Lady, aka the Ghost of Ravenclaw.
The actress made her screen debut in Trainspotting and has worked in TV and features intermittently over the years (notably appearing in Choke, the original State of Play and as Josh Brolin's wife in No Country For Old Men) and has lately been gaining a new following thanks to her work on Boardwalk Empire. I can't weigh in on how well suited she is for the part, but given that the Potter films have been generally quite well cast I'm not at all concerned. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 opens on July 15, 2011. [Vanity Fair]
