'Han Shot First,' A 'Star Wars' Art Exhibit Hits Seattle's Ltd Art Gallery This Week
Even when there's nothing new about Star Wars, people care about Star Wars. In the years between Return of the Jedi and The Phantom Menace, Star Wars certainly wasn't a daily topic of discussion. Yet its legions of fans made it omnipresent and lent it cultural influence. Once Revenge of the Sith ended, we thought we'd enter another dark time too, but the Clone Wars cartoon, rabid fan films and more consistently kept the franchise in the public eye. Now, with the recent announcement of Star Wars Episode VII, the franchise is not back on our radars, it's hot again.
The timing works out perfectly for the Ltd. Art Gallery in Seattle, WA. They've got a brand new exhibit of Star Wars art about to go on display called Han Shot First. It opens Thursday December 13 and remains on display through January. Check out a bunch of images after the jump.
The Ltd. Art Gallery is located at 307 E Pike St, Seattle, WA and the opening reception December 13 is 6-10 p.m. For more info on the show, visit ltdartgallery.com. Mouse over each piece for its subject and title.
This is just a tiny cross section of what'll be on display on the show. As you can tell, it's all kind of different takes on the characters from super serious, to totally ridiculous. Which, if you think about it, is pretty much Star Wars in a nutshell.
All the pieces will go on sale first at the opening, which you can RSVP to here, and then go online early next week.
