'Guardians Of The Galaxy' Promotional Poster Looks Fake, But Still Works
Briefly: James Gunn has completed filming next year's Phase Two Marvel film, Guardians of the Galaxy, and a legit teaser trailer is likely to land in the coming months. If we're following the Marvel Studios marketing trajectory, though, we'll get a teaser poster long before that. This image is not that poster.
What purports to be a new promotional image – though there are a few red flags – has now come online featuring Star Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Groot (Vin Diesel) and Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) in all their glory, something a teaser poster probably won't do. Check it out below.
Thanks to Coming Soon for the heads up.
Gunn himself doesn't even know if this image is official — could he not get approval on what Marvel Brasil is using as a promo image?
@russfischer I think that's fan art I saw a long time ago.

Fan art? Looks like it. Drax and Gamora certainly look like the actors playing them, but there has been an official piece of concept art to give away what they look like in costume and makeup. Beyond that, it looks like a basic cut and paste photoshop job. We'll surely get better and definitively official images of the characters moving ahead towards an August 1, 2014 release date.
