Watch All The 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Footage In Chronological Order
By now we've seen nearly four minutes of footage from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. There are likely more tidbits to come in the form of TV spots (like the one that arrived over the weekend), but otherwise we are completely done with full trailers. That may not seem like a lot of footage, especially when you consider how little we know about the story so far, but a new video puts all the footage released up to this point into chronological order. We get a little speculative about the placement of some of the footage, so beware of potential spoilers.

Here's the assembly of footage from fan and friend Mike Vecchio:
Keep in mind that this chronological cut has only been assembled to the best of the editor's ability. We don't know for sure where some of these shots fit in, but based on what I know about the story and how well this footage fits together, this is a pretty accurate depiction of the order of all this footage.
If this chronological cut is accurate, there are some revelations that I hadn't quite pieced together yet. For example, it looks like there's some kind of First Order attack at Maz Kanata's castle (the place we see our heroes entering with all the flags outside). It seems as if they have to make an escape out of there. The scene where Maz hands over Luke's lightsaber to Leia isn't portrayed with much urgency, indicating they've gone somewhere safe.
However, some of the shots have no context and feel strangely out of place. For example, it's hard to decipher what's happening in the shot of Kylo Ren with the rest of the Knights of Ren. We're not sure what they're doing all assembled in the rain together.
In addition, I believe that shot of Luke Skywalker in the desert with R2-D2 is out of place. While it's likely that we won't see the present-day version of Skywalker until towards the end of the movie, I think that particular shot is part of a flashback sequence. We've heard this will be the first Star Wars movie to jump out of the present timeline in that fashion, and I think that scene is part of it.
Otherwise, this mostly seems to be correct, and it does seem to confirm our suspicions that BB-8 belongs to Poe Dameron. So why does the First Order chase them to that village at night? I'm willing to bet it's because BB-8 has some kind of secret, not unlike his droid friend R2-D2 had in A New Hope. But I don't think it's battle station plans this time.
