First Official Look: Katniss And Finnick In 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' [Updated With More Images]
We've still got a long wait for Francis Lawrence's The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, but if last year's marketing blitz for The Hunger Games is a good indication, Lionsgate will be offering up plenty of posters, images, clips, and trailers along the way. Today we have our first official look at Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Finnick (Sam Claflin). Check them out after the jump.Update: EW has posted a few more pics, which we've added below.Entertainment Weekly scored the first pictures from the movie. The magazine cover shows Katniss and Finnick armed and ready for battle, standing in front of what appears to be a lake of fire, while the still has Finnick dishing out his famous charm to an apparently uninterested Katniss.NO PHOTOS
Any movie star would've had a tough time living up to Finnick's appearance in the book, which repeatedly notes how so very handsome he is. The stiff, unflattering picture of Claflin on the cover is a disappointment, but the photo inside looks more like what I had in mind. Based on the body language and facial expressions, I'm going to guess this is from one of Katniss and Finnick's earlier encounters.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens November 22. Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland, Jena Malone, and many others star.
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
