Here's the brand new trailer for Bindlestiffs, presented by Smodcast Pictures.
I haven't seen Blindlestiffs yet but watching that trailer should give hope to every filmmaker out there. The visuals make it very obvious this was made with little to no budget, by a bunch of friends passionate about a story and making people laugh. But they worked hard, got it done, got accepted into festivals, garnered great reviews and has now been adopted by an influential filmmaker and will get seen by a ton of people. It's every young filmmaker's dream.
The film will be touring starting next week, complete with Smith Q&A, and here are the dates. Buy tickets here.
Here's the plot description:
Three underage, virgin, prep-school misfits, suspended on a bogus graffiti charge, flee to the inner city in an attempt to live the plot of The Catcher in the Rye – a book they have neither read, much less understand. This motion picture graphically portrays their noble quest to surrender their virginities (as well as shed their sobriety and sanity) to the encountered gatekeepers of "real experience": vagrants, prostitutes, and crack fiends. Hot on their tail is Charlie, a paranoid, deranged security guard, who, convinced that they plan to stage a school shooting, aims to shut them down and save his piece of America.
Oh, and as an added bonus, Twitchfilm premiered a clip from the movie, which you can watch here.
