'Elektra Luxx' Trailer And Release Date

The sex comedy Elektra Luxx premiered almost a year ago at South by Southwest but, until now, we weren't sure when we'd get to see it. Directed by Sebastian Gutierrez, who wrote Snakes on a Plane, it stars Carla Gugino as a pregnant ex-porn star turned sex education teacher who gets pushed back into things when an old friend, played by Marley Shelton, approaches her with a proposition. The film made Peter's list of Best Movies of 2010 You've Never Heard of and now, we have a release date and full trailer for the film. Elextra Luxx, which also stars Timothy Olyphant, Adrianne Palicki, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Malin Akerman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and others will be released March 11. Here's the official plot description:

Recently retired from the adult film industry, superstar Elektra Luxx (Carla Gugino) is pregnant with the child of late rock star Nick Chapel. She is trying to make ends meet by teaching a community college sex education class aimed at housewives when a figure from her past, flight attendant Cora (Marley Shelton), approaches her with a proposition. In exchange for the (stolen) lyrics to Nick Chapel's last record, all of which is about Elektra, Cora needs Elektra to seduce her fiancee. Elektra reluctantly agrees to do this favor, setting in motion a series of hilarious events which will see her come face to face with detectives, sex bloggers, emotionally unstable neighbors and the Virgin Mary herself as she wrestles with the prospect of motherhood and tries to become a person of substance.

While the one year hiatus for the film worries me, I think this trailer looks pretty solid. Great cast, beautiful women, sign me up.
