'Hot Tub Time Machine 2' Predicts The Next 'Daily Show' Host
The moment Jon Stewart announced his departure from Comedy Central's The Daily Show, fans began speculating about who might replace him. One of the most popular fantasy-cast picks has been Jessica Williams, who's been knocking it out of the park as the program's "Senior Beyoncé Correspondent," among many other things, since 2012.
Well, if the time-traveling bros of Hot Tub Time Machine 2 are to be believed, all of those wishlists are right. In an eerily prescient clip from the comedy sequel, the gang arrives in 2025 to discover that Williams has taken over Stewart's old desk. Watch the Daily Show Jessica Williams clip from Hot Tub Time Machine 2 after the jump.
Uproxx has the clip. If you've been wondering what it would look like if Williams really took over for Stewart, well, now you know. From where I'm sitting, it looks pretty sweet. She looks right at home behind that desk. She also looks shockingly youthful considering this takes place 10 years in the future. Maybe that's just one of her many gifts.
If Williams really does wind up getting the job, we might have to consider some of the other predictions laid out in this clip. Prepare yourselves for a future that includes, in addition to The Daily Show With Jessica Williams, a Neil Patrick Harris presidency and a Meryl Streep biopic (starring Jennifer Lawrence, obvs) titled Streepin' It Real. Come to think of it, 2025 sounds kinda awesome.
Hot Tub Time Machine 2 lands in theaters February 20. Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, Clark Duke, and Adam Scott star. Steve Pink returns to direct.
In the sequel, when Lou (Corddry) finds himself in trouble, Nick (Robinson) and Jacob (Duke) fire up the hot tub time machine in an attempt to get back to the past. But they inadvertently land in the future. Now they have to alter the future in order to save the past... which is really the present.
