Christopher Meloni In Talks For 'Man Of Steel'

Add one more to the new Superman film, as Zack Snyder's Man of Steel has just locked in Christopher Meloni to play an unspecified but reportedly major role. Is there a sex crime to solve? Maybe someone fondled some sweaters? Or is it that there is a newspaper to run? We haven't heard whether or not Perry White, the man in charge of the Daily Planet, is in the movie. But if the character is a part of the story, Mr. Meloni would be a pretty great choice to modernize him.

So we've got Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as the Kents, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Russell Crowe and Julia Ormond as Superman's Kryptonian parents, and Antje Traue as Faora. Zack Snyder will start shooting the film soon for release in 2012. [Deadline]
