'Captain America: Civil War' Credits Scenes: Russo Brothers Say There Could Be Three
The newest trailer for Captain America: Civil War finally gave us our first glimpse of the new Spider-Man, and fans couldn't be more excited to see what he brings to the table, even if the new suit has been a little divisive among them. And now that Marvel no longer has to be secretive about Spider-Man actually being in the movie, Anthony & Joe Russo have opened up about the opportunity to bring the webslinger into the Marvel cinematic universe.
But beyond that, the Russo brothers have also talked about what's in store as far as the credits scenes in Captain America: Civil War, and they hint at the possibility of there being three of them for the first time ever. There's a chance there will be teases for the Black Panther and Captain Marvel movies, but also more than likely, The Avengers: Infinity War will be teased as well, and the Russos talk about their next two-part Marvel sequel as well.
First up, here's what the Russo brothers had to say to Forbes about Spider-Man and his big reveal:
We always intended to (reveal him that way). We thought it was a great way to reveal him. I think people are going to be happy with him in the movie, he's got a very interesting role in it. Part of the fun of Spider-Man is that this film is basically a war amongst the Avengers and Spidey does not have the baggage that all these other characters have. He enters the story after the conflict that is happening between the Avengers and that gives him a very unique place in the story.
Speaking of conflict, there's an even bigger one on the horizon for Anthony and Joe Russo since the duo will be at the helm of both parts of The Avengers: Infinity War, and there will be even more heroes on the big screen by then. Anthony Russo says:
[There are] new characters that are going to appear in 'Avengers: Infinity War'. It's a big sprawling ambitious movie, it's about as ambitious as movies get and it should be, and the title alone indicates that there will be an incredible scape and scope to it. It is intended to be the entire culmination of the Marvel cinematic universe and, in many ways, the end to that part of it.
However, the Russos are just now getting their start on Infinity War with Anthony saying, "We don't even have the first draft in on that script yet; we're still in the outline phase. It's hard not to talk about it too specifically now only because of spoilers but also because we're still figuring it out."
Speaking of spoilers, what can we expect from the Captain America Civil War credits scenes? Of course, Anthony and Joe Russo aren't giving up any specifics, but they give just enough of a tease:
We can't say who is going to be in it, but we can say that there certainly could be one, or two, maybe three. We can confirm that you should stay sat in your seats when the movie is done.
We'll find out when Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6.
