'Batman V Superman' Viral Video Teases Release Of LexCorp's New OS
New York Comic-Con is in full swing today, so there are bound to be some big updates coming from the convention this weekend. Some viral marketing in conjunction with NYCC has already kicked off with a Fortune profile on the vegan hipster billionaire Lex Luthor Jr. (played by Jesse Eisenberg) from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and now another interesting tie-in has popped up online.LexCorp has debuted a new video advertising the forthcoming release of Lex/OS, the world's most secure and private operating system. This was teased in the aforementioned Fortune interview, and it'll be interesting to see what comes out of this Batman v Superman viral marketing campaign. Watch the Batman v Superman viral video after the jump.
Here's the LexCorp video for Lex/OS:
At LexCorp Industries, we believe in technology that unites us, where inspiration, innovation and imagination all come together to create a greater tomorrow, today. Now, LexCorp is proud to announce Lex/OS the world's most private and secure operating system. Engineered with the protection you need, and the freedom you want. To celebrate, please enjoy our free Lex Wi-Fi throughout this venue and visit our LexCorp booth for your free charging device. LexCorp and the New Lex/OS, providing the safety and confidence we need in an ever changing world. Let's build a better tomorrow.
As Lex Luthor Jr. said in his interview:
We are on the cusp of unveiling a technology that will change the world forever. It's about safety. This is a product that will protect you, and everyone, from threats you don't even know about yet. I don't want to scare anybody... much. But there are a lot of threats out there, and they're here today.
We're not sure what Lex/OS does just yet, but maybe it will protect people from that "world-changing crisis" that is "hurtling toward us like a speeding bullet." Sounds like a little dig at Superman, if you ask me. Maybe Luthor has figured out a way to get Kryptonite into everyone's phones and computers so Superman can't live on Earth anymore. Probably not, but that might not be a bad plan.
For more from Batman v Superman, there's also a Lex Luthor Twitter account and an official LexCorp website that will likely have plenty of goodies to offer as the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice gets closer. The site currently teases that Lex/OS is coming this winter.
That's not the only Batman v Superman viral marketing at NYCC this weekend. There's also free wifi at the convention center provided by LexCorp, not to mention free portable charging devices being handed out. I'm willing to bet that not even your allegiance to Superman will stop you from taking advantage of free wifi and phone energy at New York Comic-Con. Of course, since it's free, everyone will be on it, and then how you will upload those pictures of your friends in Doctor Who cosplay? Maybe that's just how Lex Luthor just wants to frustrate you. Terrible wifi would be quite the villainous move.
Anyway, stay tuned to see if anything comes out of all this LexCorp viral marketing business. We're not sure if there will be any new footage thrown around New York Comic-Con or if any other big announcements are on the way from Warner Bros. Pictures. But as soon as anything new regarding Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice comes to light, we'll be sure to let you know.
