'Baby Driver' Filming Now: Check Out Behind-The-Scenes Shots From Edgar Wright's Latest
Good news: Edgar Wright has begun filming his newest picture, Baby Driver. Shooting in Atlanta, Georgia, began this week, and Wright is already sharing behind-the-scenes pics from his rock-and-roll car chase film. There aren't any shots of the excellent cast, but posting a few shots from the set isn't a bad way to celebrate the start of principal photography. Check out Wright's photos below.
Baby Driver stars Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars), Lily James (Cinderella) Jon Hamm (Mad Men), and Kevin Spacey (House of Cards). Wright's frequent collaborators Simon Pegg and Nick Frost aren't a part of the cast, at least not in roles that we know of. We haven't heard much about Wright's original project, but about a year ago we got our first synopsis:
Plot follows a talented, young getaway driver (Elgort) who relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss, he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.
We've since learned a little bit more about the film. Jamie Foxx plays the crime boss, and he forces the young driver into that impossible heist. James plays the love interest, while Hamm stars as one of the villains, a member of the gang of bank robbers. There's no word on who Spacey is playing.
Edgar Wright shared the image of the clapperboard above on his Twitter, but the director posted more behind-the-scenes images over on his Instagram account. Since music plays a big part of the film, as is usually the case with Wright's work, the first batch of photos are set in Atlanta's own Criminal Records. For starters, Wright tipped his cap to David Bowie:

Wright and cinematographer Bill Pope (The Matrix) first collaborated on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, before they worked together again on The World's End. Thankfully, Wright and Pope are back at it, because the DP is shooting Baby Driver.
