'Avengers: Infinity War' Super Bowl TV Spot: The Team Suits Up
As two football teams continue to battle it out on the gridiron, Disney and Marvel Studios have released a new look at a fictional battle with world-changing stakes: the Avengers vs. Thanos. Check out a brand new Avengers Infinity War Super Bowl spot below.
The first full trailer for Infinity War showcased an impressive showdown between Earth's Mightiest Heroes and that pesky purple god who's proven to be the universe's worst collector of Infinity Stones. But Thanos is done playing games, and now he's taking matters into his own hands.
Avengers Infinity War Super Bowl footage
I didn't notice in the previous trailer that Cap is wearing those cool gauntlets, and he's not the only one with a new armor/tech/outfit. Iron Man is rockin' some new duds (is that nano armor?), and Spider-Man will certainly need Tony's help in the uniform department if he's going to survive in space (!).
Can directors Anthony and Joe Russo actually pull this thing off? They were barely able to balance a huge cast and a large-scale story in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, and this movie will be even more insane – seemingly by a long shot. This is supposed to be the culmination of everything we've seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far, and the Russos seem to have things under control from everything we've seen. I may be in the minority, but I actually like this quick look at some new footage better than what we saw in the full trailer.
Avengers: Infinity War just might feature one of the best casts ever assembled in cinematic history: Scarlett Johansson, Josh Brolin, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Chadwick Boseman, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Bradley Cooper, and Anthony Mackie.
As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
Avengers: Infinity War arrives in theaters on May 4, 2018.
