Disney/Pixar has developed a mobile animatronic version of WALL-E to roam the Disney amusement parks. /Film Twitter friend Jeremy C spotted the robot in the streets of Los Angeles and was able to capture this video footage of the droid in action. I want one, how much?

OMG imagine that thing exploded and doused everyone in battery acid? That’s hardcore hazardous.

Reminds me of “Johnny 5″ from “Short Circuit”, just smaller. They both have the same look in the “face”,”hands”, voice and “feet”.

Why is it that I am so intrigued by this character? I mean outside of TDK and Hellboy II this is probably my most looked forward to movie of the summer and I cannot figure out why.

You reported a while back on page 2 that he was at Disneyland, or at least I read Disneyland when maybe it was Disneyworld. My son asked the “character hunters” at Disneyland and got some blank stares. They in turn said, “well little guy, have you seen the talking trash can?” And in true daddy style, he bounced back with “That’s not Wall-E! That’s just some guy controling a trash can from a few feet away.” Crazy kid. :) He’d get a kick out of seeing this.

Haha!
Actually this clip was filmed by a friend of a friend. Just to let you know.
But yeah, Wall-E is out on the prowl!!! Exciting!

@ Floppy
I feel the same way, I cant understand why I want to see this movie so bad. There is something about this that makes me want to see this.
May 14th, 2008 at 4:58 pm
“Donivan”
“Could” you “do” this “anymore”.
Go on Star Tours my friend, same robot design is in there, before Short Circuit ever came out.
Boo ya.

I definitely get the Johnny 5 vibe when I see Wall-E. Even the voices are similar. Every time I see it I hear “number 5 alive, no disassemble!”, which I could live without, but I’m still looking forward to it. I think it’s going to be fun.

I. WANTS. IT.
May 14th, 2008 at 6:55 pm
@ Floppy
Don’t be afraid…It’s your inner child. Let him out. LoL.
I thought it was amazing. It’s cool to see how far we’ve come with tech advances. I sooo want to see this.
May 14th, 2008 at 7:03 pm
Totally NOT seeing this.
May 14th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
Such a badass 790, thanks for your insightful thoughts.
May 14th, 2008 at 10:33 pm
Nope whatever your name is I’m a smartass.
Enjoy your Pixar cotton candy.
May 14th, 2008 at 11:33 pm
I love you all. I am johnny 5 and E.T’s love child.
May 15th, 2008 at 12:17 am
Why is that guy in the background holding his balls the whole time?
May 15th, 2008 at 1:44 am
Hahahahaha this is EXACTLY what I was asking for when I saw the $180 toy version article. Oooo man I want one.
May 15th, 2008 at 2:23 am
Why is the guy in the back grabbing his junk so hard?
May 15th, 2008 at 7:31 am
@ Chimaera
But if I let my inner child out I’ll be left defenseless and 790 will point and laugh at me and I’ll be sad and vulnerable then he’ll ask me if I want some cotton candy in his van. Ha. Calm down 790 I’m kidding.
@ Hotbox & What-the?
I think the guy in the back is controlling Wall-E with his junk. Ha. How inconspicuous.
May 15th, 2008 at 11:01 am
I was really drunk at the time.
May 15th, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Oh Shoot that is so damn cute!!
May 15th, 2008 at 8:21 pm
that guy that just asking wall-e those questions (which i couldn’t quite make out) turned him really sad. what a fag.
May 15th, 2008 at 8:28 pm
We’re taking the boy down to Disney World in mid-July. I hope we see a Wall-E while we’re there. He loves Pixar stuff… and has a poster of Wall-E in his room. Movie’s going to be good. I got a few early childhook Wall-E books today and they revealed a lot of the story. Which is cool… but I wish I hadn’t read them cause I want to enjoy the movie the most I can. Anyway, cool droid!

NUMBER 5 ALLLLLLLLIVVVVVE
May 15th, 2008 at 10:51 pm
This was posted by a producer in an attempt to viralize a movie. Please relize this. It is cool, but it’s undertones are OBVIOUS. Hire a real viral marketing company or gtfo :)
May 15th, 2008 at 11:38 pm
The “streets of L.A.” look suspiciously similar to the “Burbank studio lot”.
Whatever. I want one.
May 16th, 2008 at 2:54 am
this is so damn cute… wall-e… great invention… :-)
May 16th, 2008 at 6:39 pm
WHY is the dude in the background holding his crotch the whole time?
May 18th, 2008 at 12:14 pm
Anybody have any clue where this was at? I just got back from Disney Land last night and I looked all over and asked the people in the Pixar section of California adventure and they had never heard of a Wall*E at Disney Land.
So where else could this be? Near El Capitan? I doubt that…
May 18th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
Being that its a Pixar film it was more than likly filmed in front of a green screen.
May 31st, 2008 at 10:26 am
I have reason to believe this is fake (IE computer animated and not animatronic), can anyone give me more information to prove otherwise?
